Volunteers Needed!
We understand your time is valuable, and we appreciate your considering spending some of it with us at Pope Memorial Humane Society! We couldn’t do what we do without the help of our incredible team of volunteers, and we hope you’ll join that team and be part of a community that is changing the lives of homeless dogs, cats, and small animals!
Our incredible team of volunteers ensures that our animals are clean, dry, comfortable, and well-fed. Our dog walkers help our dogs enjoy daily exercise. In addition to walking dogs, other volunteer tasks include:
-Cleaning cat areas and kennel cleaning.
-Assisting at the front desk.
-Helping at events.
Most volunteers commit to at least one shift per week, usually about 1 ½ to two hours.

- Complete the Volunteer Application
- Attend the Volunteer Orientation. These are scheduled monthly in the PMHS Community Room. You will learn the history of Pope Memorial Humane Society, the animals we serve, and our various programs. A shelter tour will take place at the end of the session.
- Discuss your availability and the volunteer opportunities you would be interested in with the Volunteer Coordinator, Jacqueline Harjula.
